    WW2 Evacuee

    Life Memories

    Original Audiobook

This poignant memoir follows the author from his early years in England at the start of World War 2 when at age 7, he was evacuated from England and spent 4 war years in Canada.

Unlike a history of war this memoir is a "from the heart" account of how the war led to a dynamic adventure in the British Royal Air Force followed by an exciting and a very successful private career in which his unique expertise in planning and implementation took him from England to the United Arab Emirates. His account is sprinkled with personal experiences such as dining with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace. I could go on and on, but I won't because you can just read it for yourself. You will be so glad you did.

Narrowly Avoiding Disaster in the Air

  • 2nd World War

The Second World War disrupted life for everyone in the UK. One of the first disruptions I experienced was when I was a child of seven. I was evacuated because of the need to relocate around 1.5 million of our population from threatened Luftwaffe attacks. Almost 800,000 of these evacuees were children.

This is the story of one lucky evacuee who returned from Winnipeg in 1945 and in 1951 began an interesting career in the RAF. His military flight officer role took him to the UK, Europe, the Far East, and the Middle East. His name is John M. Hare. He is the author.
